Hello, I'm not sure to whom I'm speaking - there's no signature. Thank you for your advice. I do use JPEG's, and I do use Paint Shop Pro and AutoCAD to convert images to JPEG's and TIFF's.
PNG seems to us like a "better" format than JPEG's and TIFF's. Here are the differences that are important to us: JPEG TIFF PNG Lossy No loss No loss Very Small Huge Very Small 16.7 M Colors only Some color levels Many color levels Compressed Might be compressed Compressed The PNG is the only format of the three that wins in every category. Will ER Mapper support Portable Network Graphics soon? No it does not. It does support JPEG read/write if you want to create graphics for web sites. If you need to use PNG files in ER Mapper, I'd suggest getting an inexpensive program like Paint Shop Pro to convert them to TIFF for processing in ER Mapper (or vice versa to export from ER Mapper to PNG).
