Hi Nick (and list), We have recently (last week) been made aware of this issue.
Technically - the plugin install is not able to locate the critical raster config script "filefilters.cfg" in the directory: E:\arcgis\arcexe81\Raster\devices\ntx86\win32_nt which causes the install to fail. This indicates that the ARCGis raster architecture from 8.1 to 8.2 has changed and the plugin installation will have to be updated (as you noted).
