Ken, 
        If you can save to a different folder or drive, then it's probably
not Ermapper. Recreate the 'Carlin Stuff' folder structure on a different
drive and try the save again. Sounds like you might have a glitch in your
drive FAT or something.
        Win2000 backup might change the archive attribute bit, but that's
about all, it won't affect the write state of the folder.

  I have just started getting the following message whenever I try to = save
a file to a drive I have previously saved to in the past;

  'Directory "E:\Carlin stuff\Data\NED_data'" is not writable'

  Anyone have any idea what might be going on? I am using ERMapper v6.2 = on
Win2000.
