Hello List,

Recently I had the opportunity to convert a TIFF file to a mercator
projection using the ERMapper 6.2 geoprocessing wizard. All the header info
has been set properly in the .ERS file and the resulting image sits
perfectly where it should relative to other projected data in ERMapper. My
question is as follows:

When saving the .ERS file to GeoTIFF with the projected info turned on I
don't seem to carry all of the projected info into the GeoTIFF header. When
I read the file back into ERMapper there is not enough info in the header to
have the TIFF file be in the correct space. If I load the file into ArcView
for instance I have to tell the system where the file is (i.e. projection,
lat of true scale, etc.). Seems as if the GeoTIFF simply has what would
typically be in a .TFW (World File). Can ERMapper output a " fully
compliant" GeoTIFF file with all the projection info and has anyone
encountered the same problem/issue ?

Thanks in advance.
