Christopher,

ER Mapper 6.2 cannot save out signed 16-bit TIFF files at present. Currently
it is limited to saving imagery as either grayscale, palette-based (i.e.
256-color), or RGB TIFF files.

However, ER Mapper 6.3 will feature the ability to save images in unsigned
or signed 16-bit TIFF format as well as the ability to save out "multilayer"
algorithms (e.g. all seven bands from a TM scene) in TIFF format.

ER Mapper 6.3 is currently in beta so if you have an up-to-date maintenance
contract we can provide a pre-release version to help you out.

Subject: Signed 16-bit integer TIFF

I know this has been raised and answered on this list in the past, but I
can't find anything in my personal archive of this list...

I need to export a signed 16-bit integer raster dataset to either a TIFF or
other format ArcView can use. Every option I have tried - saving as GeoTIFF
or as an Arc/Info BIL file changes the data to unsigned 8-bit.

What I ultimately need is a GRID file that I can do some analysis in ArcView
from this dataset. Can ER Mapper perform what I require?

Christopher
