Hi Yuri,

The hardlock driver installation program(hldinst.exe) shipped with ER Mapper
6.1 does not work under Windows XP. The latest hardlock driver installation
program(hinstall.exe) from Aladdin Knowledge Systems does work correctly
under Windows XP. You can download hinstall.exe from:

http://www.aks.com/support/hasp/vendor.asp

You should then be able to run hinstall.exe directly as follows:

1. Open the Command prompt.
2. cd to the directory where hinstall.exe is located.
3. Type the following command:

hinstall -i

4. Hit "Enter"
The hardlock drivers should now be installed.

I should also point out that you will experience other problems running ER
Mapper 6.1 under Windows XP which include point extractors and raster
translators not being recognized. This means you will experience problems
running the gridding wizard or opening data that is not in ER Mapper's
native format(ER Mapper raster dataset).

If you want ER Mapper to run correctly under Windows XP, you will need to
upgrade to ER Mapper 6.3, which will be released in the next few weeks.

Hope this helps,

ER Mapper 6.3 and Image Web Server 1.7 will release shortly

Hi All!
Did anybody face a problem with the hardlock driver under Win XP?
Tried to reinstall ErMapper 6.1 to the new computer. Hldinst.exe returned
error message, and driver didn't work properly. In Win2000 system I never
met any trouble with licensing.
I'd appreciate any suggestion (with the exception of rolling back to Win
2K).

Regards
