hello list,

        i fear i am asking a rather novice question, but on breaking out ASTER
bands using the HDF wizard (I allow rotation to North), and merged in an alg.
with Landsat 5 TM and NIMA DOI10 (= SPOT 10 m. pan), I pick up about a 75 meter
(5 pixel)registration error, running NW-SE...the DOI10 and TM match nicely, and
match well with ground observations from GPS. When I compared the HDF wizard
rotated and non-rotated results, coordinate differences between pixel centers
of an ASTER file were on the order of 10-15 meters. I have not thoroughly
checked any of these numbers.

        my questions are two part: 1A) has anyone had simillar mis-registration
results when going from EOS HDF to rotated .ers raster? 1B) if so, got a
solution? 2) has anyone experienced poor georef'ing in ASTER products (these
are level 1B). my suspicion is that both ASTER georef and rotation/HDF->ers
translation are introducing errors...all data are in UTM N37 WGS84, on NT
using ERM 6.3.

        many thanks,
        Eric
