Hello Wil, The ECW plugin does not handle paper space (layout) when viewing/plotting ECWs, it is best to work in model space. I have not heard of AutoCAD crashing before when plotting ECWs in paper space, did you use our ERMPLOT command or AutoCADs _plot command? It is best to use _plot in paper space as ERMPLOT is for model space. The plots of ECWs in paper space are low quality. To get high resolution plots in paper space please try the following workaround:
1) In model space, set the display to approx. the area you want to print. 2) Create/Set the layout according to the display 3) In model space, set the print quality to high (ERMSETPLOT) 4) In model space, issue special ERMapper plot command (ERMPLOT). This will regenerate the raster in display at high resolution and might take several minutes. When regeneration is finished the plot dialog appears. Click CANCEL on the dialog to return to the drawing and now the ECW is attached at high resolution. Do not do any more commands that will cause the display to REGEN as the ECWs will refresh back to screen resolution. 5) Now, switch to the layout and issue _plot without doing anything else (keep the ECW at high resolution). Click OK on the plot dialog. Please give this a try and let me know if it helps. If using the ERM plot set-up, I have to put title sheets into the Model space of Cad. This is possible, but undesirable due to the fact that the scale of the plots vary extensively. Is there a way of using the Cad plotting utility without crashing and how?
