Hi Boz,

Your processor and operating system meet the requirements of the extension
so the only difference that I am are aware of is the device not being a
Pocket PC but instead a Handheld PC. However, I have asked another developer
regarding the Handheld PC and said that is should be OK, although all files
were compiled against the Pocket PC.

You mentioned that if you let the install choose the default location you
cannot see the extension appear in ArcPad (does not appear under the
Help->About Extension->ECW Raster Support?).

This could mean that:

a)the default install location was incorrect
- default install location of extension DLL:
.\Program Files\ArcPad\Extensions
If not the actual ArcPad extension directory then you will need to copy the
extension DLL to correct directory.
- the NCS*.dll (3) is installed in the .\Windows directory.
- If the above are correct, but still the extension does not appear in
ArcPad try copying the NCS*.dll's to the directory of ArcPad.exe.

or

b)the extension DLL (or its dependences) are not compatible with the
Handheld PC device.
- It might be the specific device that is causing the problem, do other H/PC
devices work?
If not helpful, I will:
- Try compiling the ECW extension and WinCE ECW SDK under the H/PC device
SDK
- Try contacting the GeoXT manufacture for help with problem / testing.

Please let me know if you have any success with the ArcPad Extension on the
GeoXT while I look into this problem further.

Thanks for responding. I simply cannot get ArcPad to find the extension
once I have it loaded. I move the .dlls to the extension directory, but
ArcPad doesn't seem to recongnize the extension. I am letting the
install program install it in its default location on the Handheld.

This seems like a compiling issue - CE 3.0 not supported?? The
processor is a 206 StrongArm with a typical screen layout as a iPaq.

By the way, the extension works great with my iPaq/Arcpad setup!
