Gia,

I am assuming that you have one file (.tif) per band per scene.
Put each scene in its own directory, for example Path 222 Row 077 would
be d:\Projects\Landsat\222-077. Pick on the magic wand icon (second row,
far left) on the ER Mapper main tool bar. Select the first file in the
directory, keep the defaults, hit next, uncheck "Cell sizes" check on
"manually set mosaic properties", hit next, uncheck all, next, select
Greyscale, hit next, and then Finish. Bands 1-5 & 7 will import into the
viewer. Open the algorithm dialogue box and rename the band's layer to
match the layer (TM5 Band 1, TM5 Band 2, etc.). Double check, to make
sure that the bands correspond to the layer name. Now Saveas, selecting
"ER Mapper Raster Dataset (.ers)" from the "File of type:" pull down,
name your file (ex. 222-070TM5_18_Jan_84), hit OK. In the Saveas
dialogue box, keep defaults, enter a 0 (zero) in the "Null Value" area,
check ON the "Delete transforms" button, and hit OK. Open the new file
and check to make sure is what you want before doing the other 11
images. You can do this for all images, If you are doing Landsat 7, do
the same for bands 1-5 & 7, but open band 8 directly from the hard
drive, name the layer, and save as a separate .ers file. If you import
band 8 with 1-5 & 7, you will be required to save the file as 15m cell
sizes, and creating a much larger file size than is needed.

Good luck,

Subject: RE: How to save Landsat as one file for mosaic

Leo,
I'm very thankful to you for your immediately help. I
don't know how to import Landsat imagery into ER
Mapper and save out as "ers" format so I can mosaic,
as you said. I have 12 Landsat5 imagery of Vietnam,
and I try to mosaic them together.
