Rea;;y their prices aren't THAT reasonable...249$ for a 40gig firewire
hard drive? Pricewatch.com kills that off right there, plus they're
selling refurb stuff for new prices.

About the electronics hardware, I wouldn't trust Kikisui stuff. I've
actually used it in lab here in parallel with an HP (forget the model #,
but I could find out, it's a bit older so it's probably cheaper by now)
so that they are both reading the same voltage input while theoretically
looking at the transfer function and figuring out what it should be, and
it seems that the HP is much more accurate. Of course we also did tests
of the internal resistance of each, and the HP was much larger than the
Kikisui. You actually ideally want an infinite resistance so they it
will drop all the voltage that comes in so you don't let transients get
through to the ground end of the oscilloscope.

Like I said, if you want, I can find the model number of the HP. I've
also used some various wave generators that can do sin, square,
triangular, sawtooth, and noise, as well as DC power supplies, so I can
figure out what models the really nice ones we use in lab are. (I'm
going into my fourth year in electrical engineering).

Subject: [ERPS] OT: Deals on electronic test equipment

Yesterday I discovered some used test equipment for sale at a place
called "Dot-Com Depot". I cannot vouch for the condition, except to say

that it appears clean and undamaged. But the prices are very
reasonable.

Here's what I saw (they may have more):

BK Precision 1635 DC power supply 1 ea. $ 79
BK Precision 1646 DC power supply 2 ea. $ 99
        Fluke 8010A DMM (no leads) 4 ea. $ 39
        Kikisui 5060 60 MHz oscilloscope 2 ea. $ 99
        Kikisui 5060 60 MHz oscilloscope 1 ea. $129
        Leader 192A audio tester 1 ea. $119
        Leader 1100 100 MHz oscilloscope 2 ea. $179
        Leader LAT-45 audio attenuator 2 ea. $ 29
        Leader LDC-822 counter 1 ea. $ 59
        Philips PM6668 1 GHz high-res counter 1 ea. $119
        Sencore PR570 transformer analyzer 1 ea. $169
        Simpson 260 VOM (no leads) 2 ea. $ 29
        Wavetek 134 sweep generator 1 ea. $249

They also have some deals on hard disks -- their specialty -- too
numerous to list.
