I thought I had discovered a new object. It puzzled me in that it
seemed to crash somewhere near NYC and yet there was no report of an
explosion. On closer investigation it turns out that it was just the
stock market dropping like a rock. All seriousness aside, I don't think
there will be any money available for interesting space exploration for
the foreseeable future.  I hope I'm wrong.

(now I go off subject in an off topic) Henny Penny was right!

    I have a plea for any on this list who might be trying to make a go
of a profitable business for space travel. If you don't have a hunker
down mode or you don't think your funds will carry you across the
downturn/crash, then just before going under put all your proprietary
devices and intellectual assets in the public domain or at least in the
hands of a well meaning non profit. The bean counters won't know what to
do with the stuff , why waste the technology?
