The power consumption is due to the motors and the fact that in order to handle the discharge rate we need to be able to lift off, we need bigger batteries than we otherwise would need to meet the flight time spec, which in turn leads to greater power consumption for the motors to lift the thing off the ground... if I had to do it all over again, I'd focus on being as light as possible. Gizmocopter Mk. II might do exactly this :) Power consumption of the computer is the least of our worries. The computer is a 100MHz 486 which likely consumes less power than a 600 MHz Crusoe.
