Hi ...
I just wanted to say "So long" to folks. I'll be headed back to Canada
in the next few days. I'm sorry to be leaving but after 10 months of
being unemployed my funds are very low and I don't want to arrive at
my brothers doorstep penniless.
I will continue to look for work in California and who knows ...
I may be back in a few weeks or months. One of the exciting things in
life is not knowing what path God has called you to and going out
every day to see what's been laid before you.
I'll maintain my cell phone for a while so potential employers can
reach me easily. I would ask that people remember Ontario is three
hours ahead so in order to not disturb my brother and his family
please no calls after 8:00 pm Pacific time.
My ISP will continue working - once you're on the wire distance is
irrelevant. I can support and update the sites and machines as easily
from Toronto as from here. They are all set up for remote maintenance
and most functions have long been automated.

In all, it's been fun. The 14+ years I've spent in California have
helped me grow and grow up. I've made great friends and helped start
clubs and organizations that continue to this day. It's been a long
strange journey to quote a song. I've enjoyed it and hope I've brought
some joy into your lives.
I currently plan to be back for a few days around the World Science
Fiction Convention in San Jose over Labour Day weekend - I'll be
hosting parties there for BASFA and ERPS. Beyond that I'll have to see
where life leads me.
May God bless you and increase your joy and prosperity, may His hand
be upon you in your journey and may He protect you from the bad things
in life. To lead a full life, share a smile with someone every day and
do your best to keep the child-like sense of wonder alive in you, and
those around you.
