Not all that much, this is just what winter looks like in California. I grew up in Boulder, Colorado -- where Doug Jones went to school. I remember a storm where after the Chinook had come through and pealed the bricks off of a friend's house and deposited a neigbor's roof about 1/4 mile away from his house, it began to snow. We kids got to look into the neighbor's living room the next morning while riding on the school bus. Fortunately, he'd managed to get a tarp put over his grand piano before the storm deposited about 6" of new snow inside his house. In comparison, weather in the Bay Area is remarkably mild.
