Folks, Not sure if anyone caught the blurb in the Dec/Jan issue of MIT's Technology review (pg 18) about some researchers (Michael Goldfarb & Eric Barth) from Vanderbilt Univ using catalyzed peroxide for a high powered actuators for robots. I have a link to the article, but it is a subscribers only access piece (sigh). http://www.technologyreview.com/articles/prototype1202.asp
They have applied for a patent and hope to have it commercially available in the next 3 years. Basically the idea is that they are trying to get more power out of robots and want to get around the limitations imposed by batteries and electric motors while staying in a small form factor. Not sure if they can commercialize it, but any "good" publicity about peroxide can't hurt. -Tom Williams _______________________________________________ ERPS-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.erps.org/mailman/listinfo/erps-list
