Minutes of ERPS General Meeting #226 (Note corrected number)
02 January 2003

The President called the meeting to order at 8:25 PM.  Members present 
were Mark Blair, Randall Clague, Bill Clawson, Stewart Cobb, Rick 
Eversole, Sean Lynch, David Masten, Dan Solvin, Michael Wallis, and 
Chris Winter. (Hugh Daniel also attended.)

DOCUMENTATION

        Rick turned over to Chris a CD-ROM containing his progress to 
date on re-scans of images from a microfiche of the Rocketdyne report.

        Mark turned over all KISS documentation, since he will soon be 
returning to Australia. Chris accepted the task of updating this as 
required.

INFOTECH
--------
Sean Lynch

        Michael has been installed the discussion software Movable Type 
on the ERPS system. It is currently operating, but needs a bit of fine 
tuning.

LIAISON & PAO
-------------
Michael Wallis

        Michael is contemplating some way to commemorate the tenth 
anniversary of ERPS next February, perhaps by inviting a speaker. 
Suggestions are welcome.

LOGISTICS

        Nothing to report

TREASURER
---------
Michael Wallis

        Michael presented the FY2002 financial summary and passed 
out memberships forms for those wishing to renew for 2003. There were 
sufficient donations last year (over $29,000) that papers must be filed 
with the FTB.

        There is still time! Those with receipts for donations made during 
the past year should get them to Michael ASAP in order to obtain their 
2002 tax deductions.

        Sean promised to retrieve the Spike pun fund from his house and 
present it to Michael.

FLIGHT CONTROLS

        Dave M has the guidance & control software almost ready to go.

        The flight controls team accepted the goal of having Gizmocopter 
flying under autonomous control by the centennial of flight (17 December 
2003) and preferably ASAP.

REGULATORY
AFFAIRS

        Nothing to report

SAFETY
------

        Safety is AOK.

TESTING
-------
Dave Masten

        We have been notified that Chuck's insurance no longer covers 
"observers" at the Rocket Ranch. This could be a problem for ERPS; 
Michael took the action item to investigate further.

Composites
----------

        Nothing to report

Gizmocopter
-----------
Bill Clawson

        Assuming successful prior flight is accomplished, Gizmocopter 
will be shown at the next ERPS meeting.

KISS
----
Mark Blair

        As noted, Mark Blair is departing and has turned over all KISS 
documentation. Dan Solvin accepted the position of KISS Program 
Manager.

        Dan will finish the CV in a day or two. KISS-3a modification and 
cold-flow tests are scheduled for noon Saturday at CDI.

POGO
----
Dave Masten

        The next POGO meeting is set for this coming Tuesday. Watch 
the list for details.

        The team accepted a committment to achieving the goal, before 
the centennial of the Wright Brothers' flight is over, of performing a 
Wright/Conrad Square with POGO and returning it safely to solid earth.

SMARTFLIGHT

        A pressure sensor has been wired and tested.

Spike
-----
Sean Lynch

        The design & construction process for Spike has undergone a 
change of emphasis.

NEW BUSINESS
------------

        The President requested task lists from all Program Managers. 
They agreed to supply them.

        A member proposed that ERPS open negociations with a 
potential supplier of HTP. The directors were polled, and all agreed: 
Immediately following adjournment of the general meeting, an 
unscheduled Board of Directors meeting would be held to discuss this 
matter.


Meeting #226 adjourned at 9:48 PM. The next meeting will take place on 
16 January 2003. Watch the list for location.

AFTERMATH
=========
We took in $150 in 2003 Memberships, $1 in puns and a $4 donation for 
a total of $155 raised at the meeting. The following members renewed:
