Check out the pics of their engine. They are using what they describe as a "turbopump driven by an open-cycle fuel-rich gas generator." Looking at the pictures, <http://www.rocketprop.com/lv-1.htm> It looks like a pulse jet produces the gas to drive the turbo pump.
