Somebody is jumping the gun slightly. Galileo isn't quite gone yet.
The tape recorder has been retired, and most of the operations people are moving on to other things, but some of the particles-and-fields instruments are still sending data in real time. Apart from brief checks to verify health and proper trajectory, nobody will be listening for the next few months... but DSN will be covering it on impact day, in September.
