I thought it was very easy - one simply ordered 
the material from the manufacturer pre-packaged
in a capsule sealed with rupture disks on each 
end, and installed it in a compartment in the
fuel line, so that fuel pressure on startup would
pop the seals and force the stuff into the chamber
ahead of the fuel!

(Of course, this only works with a single-start 
design - a fresh capsule has to be installed for 
each successive start...)
