What sort of duty cycle and frequency do you require for your baseline operations? Some universities have developed some equipment that you may be able to contract out for even less.

Our IMU has 100 hz bandwidth and a 180 hz update rate. Our GPS has a 10 hz update rate.
I prefer commercial equipment that I know I can get more of, but I'm not dead set against research equipment.
