Only marginally. Their craters were about 40m across, which a very large
telescope could barely make out *if* there was no atmosphere in the way
(or if truly excellent adaptive optics were used). The ray systems were,
of course, larger and might be more easily observed. But this is really
something you want to do from lunar orbit, if you want decent pictures.
