Congratulations!

ES5 was officially approved as an ECMA standard at the ECMA General Assembly
held at Google yesterday. The vote, with 2/3 required to pass, was 19 yes and
2 no, with IBM voting no due to the lack of decimal and Intel voting no because
they didn't have enough time to study the intellectual property implications of
the standard.

Fast track submission to ISO was also approved by the ECMA General Assembly.

BSD licensing of ECMA copyright-owned code like the test suite also received
quite a bit of debate at the General Assembly. The GA agreed to a postal
ballot after the next Coordinating Committee meeting, assuming a proposal is
made to them in time and they like it.
