Another thing you may have to do is copy any contents of your registry
from 1.5 to 1.6 by copying the "registry" directory contents
Basically, you will have your full configuration in the Synapse.xml and
the registry, and any custom configurations (e.g. port changes, JMS
settings etc) on the axis2.xml

Hi all,
I couldn’t resist trying out 1.6 right now. :-) So I extracted the
binary distribution in parallel and simple overwrote the synapse.conf
and axis2.conf (because I changed the some port settings). Everything
seems to run just fine with my old configuration.
Nice to here that.
How stable is the synapse configuration schema? Will you provide some
upgrade mechanism, e.g. XSLT transformations, if there will be some
incompatible changes in the future?
The schema is more or less stable for most of the mediators, for
example XSLT mediator schema will not gonna change, but we may add
cirtain things to the existing schemas, which wont brake the
compatibility from earlier version, but just adds more features.
So basically the language is sort of pretty stable, :-) even though we
fix the internal code, we are not going to change the configuration
language and the behavior.
Thanks,
Ruwan
