Not gone; they are all on my IPOD! :-) It seems strange to me that many young people today are familiar with the great classics of the '60s and '70s.
By the same token my husband (20 years older) was amazed that I knew all the Big Band tunes. Recently I have had several occasions to quote/hum the Beatles song to my contemporaries at their 64th birthday parties. Back when it came out, we never imagined that possibility...
