Hi Patty, I'll jump in here and offer some of my own favorites. As Ray said, Teri fell for a piece of leftover pizza I brought out to the car. It was still warm. I just left it by her. She sniffed it a lot before she finally tasted it. One taste was all it took to turn her into a people food junkie. My secret weapon for new dogs we pick up, not just Kennewick kids, is Wendy's chicken nuggets. You can use any brand chicken nuggets, but I prefer Wendy's as they use white meat and they are cheaper than McD's nuggets. And we have a Wendy's not far from us. Well, it's seven miles but that is our closest fast food spot here in the boonies. ; ) Ours also love peanut butter on a fingertip, cream cheese as Ray said, scrambled eggs. We often give scrambled eggs as a treat as we have a dozen Rhode Island Reds that give us abundant fresh brown eggs every day. Sometimes we have so many, I scramble three or four dozen up to share with our pack. Our little Miracle loves peanut butter. Her medicine from Purdue is peanut butter flavored. They taste tested her before they had the pharmacy prepare it to be sure she liked it. NO PROBLEM. She adores it. She actually gets excited when she sees Ray drawing it up in her syringe three times a day. So happy treating with the K-kids Patty. And don't expect them to take it from you in the beginning. Just put it within reach and ignore it. Once they sniff and taste, they will want it more and eventually beg you for it. We joke a lot about turning them into junk food junkies, but we do see it as a sign of enormous progress for them. How much more normal could they get? And of course we don't make it a habit of giving them junk food very often. But nice to do once in awhile or when you need their cooperation. The piece was thick with cheese! When they first arrived we were told that they had been exposed giardia. Getting frightened dogs to take a pill a day proved challenging. We finally found that they went nuts for cream cheese. At times it was hilarious...I would have plain cream cheese on the fingers of one hand to decoy several of them while the pill in cream cheese on the other hand was offered to a specific member of the group. ----- Original Message ----- >From: P JORGENSON >To: eskiepeople >Sent: Friday, February 19, 2010 08:17 >Subject: RE: [eskiepeople:12837] Asner!! > >Ray what was the food that turned your little Kennewick honey around.
