Deb ~ I must have been calling the same time you did! According to the person who answered, there was another person on the line calling about Nikko. Hopefully several individuals will be able to offer some help.
Re: Ziggy and insurance... Considering I had only made my second monthly payment when he was diagnosed, I have definitely made out. So far, between lab work, x-rays, EKGs (he also has heartworm currently being treated), surgery and medication, we're up to about $2000 and guaranteed to go higher. He has to have lab work every 3 months to monitor for liver damage and metastasis, and any new lumps have to be aspirated and/or widely excised if mast cells are present. I don't know how I would have made decisions without the insurance. BTW... not to advertise (really) but I misspelled the name of the company - it's HealthyPaws. Anyone I have spoken with has been absolutely wonderful, helpful, and honest about everything from the beginning. Plus, I've received reimbursements within a week from the time of submission. I figure I do enough complaining to others about companies that don't meet even minimum standards, that when a good one comes along, I want to share the positives! I'll call and make a donation for the little critter. I know the feeling of having to make such medical decisions with limited finances. Not a good place to be for either the poor dog or his mom and dad. Ever so gratefully, I impulsively purchased pet insurance for my new little rescue, Ziggy, and he was diagnosed with cancer only a few weeks later. I've had an excellent experience with the company (HealthPaws), and knowing that I can give him all the care he needs without the huge financial worry, is priceless, for sure. So... if I can help someone else, I consider it payback for my blessings. Boulder Terrace Animal Hospital 1586 W Ogden Ave Naperville, IL 60540 630-420-9155 Payment to be for the Brian/Debbie Kelly account for Nikko's care. just a few weeks ago, i got a video from debbie of nikko & cherry at christmas time... nikko's the quiet one, cherry's got the strange bark, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDy2MIYfTXQ Deborah M Guske Rockford, IL Assistant Treasurer (remove spaces) deborah@ eskierescuers. org goosky@ aol. com Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc 501c3 Non Profit Organization www. eskierescuers. org http: // video. yahoo. com/watch/4345334?fr=yvmtf Sonny Day Productions http: // www. sonnydayproductions. net/ Be a part of Sonny Watch! www. supersonny. net http:// www. youtube. com/watch?v=DCZqB2Dv8Gk Prov 12:10- A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal "I am involved in dog rescue: my wallet and gas tank are always running on empty, my house is never quiet and free of dog hair, nor is my car, my inbox is full of ongoing despair and misery, but my heart and soul are replenished with unconditional love, loyalty, and joy that can only come from a rescued dog!" ~ Author Unknown -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Eskiepeople" group.
