Hi Kris, I am so sorry to learn of your loss of Princess Penny and your Golden Retriever. It's hard enough to lose one but to lose 2 so close together would be extra hard. May your memories of them bring you peace and comfort.

He also had Cushing's) > Date: Thu, 12 Sep 2013 22:11:34 -0500 > Subject: [eskiepeople:20355] Another Eskie at the Bridge > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > > We have sad news to share from our house tonight. Our "Pretty Pretty > Princess" Penny passed away this evening. Penny was rescued from the > Nebraska Humane Society in December 2010 after they had nursed her back to > health from being dumped in fields south of town. She had a gimpy hip (most > likely from being dumped from a moving car), had Cushing's Disease, > hypothyroidism, hearing loss, and catarcts - and until the last 10 days, she > could haul me on a 1.5 mile walk at the drop of a hat. > > Her last few days were filled with snuggles, more canned chicken and sliced > turkey than should be allowed, and lots of love. > > Anyone who ever met The Princess couldn't help but smile. She had an > infectious zeal for life, and made it her mission to single-handedly change > the image of the American Eskimo. > > Princess Penny's Rules of Life (feel free to add your own): > > - If you come in from a chilly outing in the yard, go straight to your > fluffy doggy bed and shiver delicately. This is guaranteed to get Daddy to > cover you with a warm blanket immediately. > > - Only wimpy dogs lay down for car rides. Standing the entire way so that > you can copilot is preferred. > > - If you're going to have a Princess Penny Party, make sure that you do it > at 2 am. This is guaranteed to get undivided attention paid to you quickly. > Bonus points if you add scratching the carpet to your party routine. > > - When your mind starts to go, it's perfectly okay to decide to wander the > bedroom at night and get stuck in new places. Mommies like to play "Where oh > Where oh Where is my Princess" at 4 am while you howl in distress. (More > bonus points if your Mommy picks you up and snuggles with you in bed for the > rest of the night.) > > - Princesses *never* have bad hair days, no matter what they've rolled in. > > - If singing in the shower works for humans, it should work for Princesses > who are indignant about their bathtime. > > - It was pretty darned good to be The Princess. > > We'll miss you, little girl. > > (And if anyone has any extra Eskie Mojo to send this way, I know my human > kids and our two living Eskie Kids would appreciate it. We lost our Golden > Retriever only 8 days ago - it's a lot for two teenagers who utterly love > their dogs to process.) > > Kris > Mom to Holly and Luke > And > Angels Princess Penny, Murray, Toby, Spike, Snowy, Sadie, and Chinook > > > -- > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Eskiepeople" group.
