RENEWED CLASHES IN AMBON – Following sudden resumption of violent Muslim-Christian confrontation in Ambon in the early afternoon of April 25, at least ten people have died and about 60 were wounded. FKM/RMS Secretary Mozes Tuanakotta has been detained by the police. For the moment being there will be a curfew from 06.00 pm on. 2. DESTRUCTION – What reportedly has been burned: the UN building and four cars from UNICEF, UNDP and Save the Children; the Amans hotel at Mardika, part of the Silo church, locations in Poka. Since last night there is a full scale attack underway on the christian neighbourhood of Batugantung, Ambon city. All christians from Batugantung and Mangga Dua have fled the area, leaving the whole place to be burned down. There are no security forces on the spot, whereas the christians themselves have no weapons left to defend themselves. C.J.
