However, rumors are going around in Ambon that (enemy) forces are (re)grouping to attack the Christian community again. The rumors are that an all out attack will be launched on 19th August, but it is possible that this will take place this very Sunday or before the 19th. Kostrad troops have been withdrawn from Ambon, but they have been replaced by other Kostrad soldiers and Armed troups from Salatiga (Central Java). Thus the troops in Ambon as of today are: Kostrad, Armed, Special Troops from Air Force, Mobile Brigade (Police), and the Marines. In addition, make-believe (security) forces are still spread over several places in the city of Ambon. >From discussions held by one of the Christians with the Kostrad soldiers it appears that the TNI soldiers in Ambon have been given the false impression that the people they are fighting in Ambon are RMS separatists, although this issue of remaining supporters of the separatist republic (from the 50's) has been denied by the Christians. With that kind of "image" they have about the Christians, no wonder soldiers supported them (Moslems) in attacking Christians. Therefore, the brothers in Ambon continue to depend on the prayers of all of us, in the hope that the Lord will open the eyes of the soldiers who are against the Christians in Ambon. Pledase continue praying that the security forces will act in justice, without taking sides. This is the latest information from Ambon.
