Pembaca yang budiman,
Melihat perkembangan situasi keamanan yang makin menyudutkan umat Kristen,
maka Sinode GPM dan Keuskupan Gereja Katolik Amboina merasa perlu meminta
bantuan masyarakat internasional untuk melakukan intervensi demi
menghentikan pertikaian dan menyelamatkan umat Kristen Maluku (khususnya di
Ambon ). Berikut ini seruan mereka kepada masyarakat dunia.

"S.O.S. CRY"
We, the threatened Christian community in the Mollucas, especially in
Ambon and Halmahera (North Molucass) hereby urgently appeal to you and to
the whole international community of nations as upholders of human rights
to hear our very desperate S.O.S. CRY.
1. The most recent development of situation in the Molucass is so explosive
and tautened due to assault and slaughtering in a contemptible and inhuman
manner on christians by un-neutral armed forces which went hand in hand
with tenthousand of fundamentalist moslem troops of "JIHAD" who mainly come
from outside Moluccas. Within the last few days hundreds of christian
people including women and children were killed; several church buildings
and other vital Christian Institution like Christian University Campus were
totally burnt down and destroyed.
2. The armed forces which ought to protect the many innocent people, in
fact are now torn apart by internal conflict among themselves. This causes
that people become fully unprotected, and consequently death tolls are
escallating daily in frightening number.
3. For this very reason, we urgently appeal, that the International
Community through the United Nations speedily render us international help
by placing UN Special Security Forces in the Moluccas (Ambon).
We urgently hope that this our S.O.S. CRY will get your immediate response
in order to prevent a worsening process of genocide (Christian cleansing)
in the Moluccas.
