Hi all, There's been a recent uptick in discussions and requests related to things that JSHint does, so I wanted to take a moment to clarify my position on this.
Complete feature parity with JSHint is not a goal of ESLint. While I do want to cover the JSHint rules (both old and new), anything beyond that will be considered on a case-by-case basis just like any other feature request. That means a case has to be made outside of "JSHint does this" for why the feature should be included. As always, I'm more than willing to consider any feature that fits in well with ESLint and the use cases that it seeks to enable.
