Hi all,

I just pushed ESLint v0.7.3. This fixed a few outstanding bugs and I
believe makes us pretty solid for the time being. Details:

http://eslint.org/blog/2014/07/eslint-0.7.3-released/

One of the changes was some documentation updates around copyright and
licensing. I'd encourage everyone to read it over:

https://github.com/eslint/eslint/commit/5415073055c8ca38d9af3b8b0c48cc7dfa1fec24

This isn't actually any different than how things already are. I always
intended for people's contributions to have the copyright of the author and
anyone who substantially changed the code. I'm just trying to make this
more explicit to help with open source-related issues.

In the future, I'll like add a very simple contributor license agreement
(CLA) that will automatically get added into pull requests that verifies
you're giving ESLint permission to use your contributions. It would be
something super-light, basically saying, "Is it okay for us to use this in
ESLint?" you'll reply "Yes" right in the PR, and that response will be
recorded somewhere.

I've avoided a CLA because I think it represents a barrier to contribution.
However, not having one is preventing ESLint from being included in some
projects with very strict open source policies. When I dug in, I found out
they really just needed assurance that everyone who contributed code had
agreed to having it distributed with the project. Hence, I can cover that
with a one line-question in pull requests because if there's any question,
I can just refer them back to the PR and the place where the contributor
said "yes".

Hopefully that's light enough that it won't prevent contributions and will
give us the permissions we need to allow even the strictest open source
project to use ESLint.
