Yeah, I do agree with Ed that both quantity and quality are very important. The
quantity is not only indicated by the number of messages one sends but also the
number of words included in each message. The quality is not only calculated by
the attractiveness of your writing but also the amount of knowledge you gain
and the inspiration you give other members. More significantly, the quantity
and quality also be measured by your love of learning English and sharing your
opinions ^_^

Cheers,
Nam

  Subject: [ESL Podcast] Re: Advertising

  Don´t worry.
Every group activity there is high and low periods. Some new members start
replying topics for a short time period and go away for long time for many
reasons.
And sometimes they came back because they liked this place and start again.
However nowadays time become precious , we want spend time on interesting
topics not junk messages,
because that I think that low amount of message isn´t a bad signal is much
more comfortable open your mail box and read interesting view point on nice
subject rather than thousand of disorganized and unrelated messages like happen
on much others groups.

  Now, replying you nice topic.

I agree everyday we are target of thousand advertisements and sometimes
influenced by it, who never ever bought something that you didn´t need ?
I think children are more expose this kind of market.

  Take care

  Ed.
