Hi everyone,

It is my belief that toys have a great influence on children's development. The
problem is that how we can choose toys suitable for them. Some toys can help
children's brain develop quickly, while some might destroy their internal
ability. Many scientists have shown that children might become violent if
everyday they play with guns, tanks, etc, and I totally agree with them.
Therefore, it is advisable for parents to be careful when selecting toys for
their children. My brother has two nice "angels", and certainly I often buy
presents for them on special events. I highly appriciate the intellect of LEG0-
toys. I think LEGO-toys are very useful for improving children's imagination.
With some colourful pieces of LEGO toys my brother's older sister can sit for
hours to image and creat many things such as houses, train, bus, etc which are
usually considered as marvelous "masterpices" by her. However, it should be
noted that LEGO toys should only be given for children who are over two years
old whose brains are mature enough to image. My brother's three-year-old
daughter is also keen on learning how to count and do some simple calculations,
therefore i often buy some thin books including number for them. Sometimes i
select colourful pictures of animals, flowers or other objects like square,
ovan, tangle, etc; with a view to helping my niece be able to realize the
diffrences beetween them. Along with books and pictures in my opinion, VCD, CD
music also play an important role in improving children's memory because they
often tend to copy what they see and listen on TV. I believe that the children
will feel music better if they are exposed to it at early age. Finally, I
would like to say that children can become much smarter than we expecte if they
are taught and brought in right ways in early childhood.

Subject: [ESL Podcast] A gift to a child

  In God We Trust

  Hello ladies and gentlemen!

A gift (such as a camera, a soccer ball, or an animal) can contribute to a
child's development. What gift would you give to help a child develop? why?

  Take care
  Elham
