Here are my answers. Q1 - My view about this crisis is that the way banks were operating in the US was not sustainable. More money should be used to finance production instead of going to speculation.Lack of regulation may have had contributed to the crisis too. President Obama said in a recent interview that one of his goals is to avoid the same problem happening again, so he is going to invest in education, health care and infrastructure to create more jobs and help the economical growth. It is hard to predict, but many financial analysts believe that in the end of this year we might see some recovery taking place.
Q2 - In my country, Brazil, our economy has slowed down since the end of the last year and the economical forecast is a bit gloomy. Analysts are saying that we might have growth near zero percent this year. Many works have been laid off, but we are en route to a recovery. I think until the end of this year our economy might be in a better shape. It might take years for the World´s economy to be on track again and it all depends of efforts that have to be made globally, by the G20 and G8 groups of countries. I believe that countries must work together to reach a deal in how stimulate the World´s economy. However, this is rather difficult to achieve, because some countries have policies that are hard to change quickly and to reach a consensus on this matter is the challenge to be overcame.
