Hello Charles Chaya Jason Vera Alberto Reinaldo Eckman and all, Charles,this heated discussion of English names reminded me of an ancient thread I started last end of June: "What's the story behind your name?"
Actually from my past experience,only Americans or British who are used to speaking other languages have problems pronouncing foreigners' names! It's beyond words for me!:( I used to have a Taiwanese trainee coworker who always needed my help and advice and who named one boy student Rachel at the very beginning of the semester... After I found out,I had to hide my rage and asked her to give him another name. I don't know what excuse she gave him or his parents at the end of the 2nd class.
