Hi Everyone,
My name is Regina and as a native Spanish speaker and learner of
English I am very interested in helping out other ESL learners. I have
joined this group with two purposes in mind. One to help in any way I
can as I believe we can all learn from each other and secondly to
invite you to share a group I just created on facebook to promote peer
to peer collaboration. I am also working on my Master's degree in
Learning Technologies and focusing on learning communities.

The group is located at
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=201672389626
and it is just in its infancy... I hope together we can build a strong
community of people interested in the English Language. The full
description is below...

Thanks a million!
Regina Vertiz

---------------

Inspired by my own journey learning English and by the works of
Etienne Wenger on Communities of Practice, this group is an attempt to
build a strong community of native English speakers and English
language learners from around the world interested in helping one
another improve their English.

So what is a Community of Practice? A term coined by Etienne Wenger in
the early 90’s, a community of practice is group of with a common
interest who engage in a process of collective learning. In the case
of this community the shared interest is English.

I encourage you to join if you are interested in learning English,
improving your English, or in helping others learn English. You are
also encouraged to ask questions about spelling, grammar, etc and
should welcome the comments and corrections.

In this group we are all teachers and learners at the same time and we
can all contribute to the learning process of our group mates.
