I also find the collaboration interesting, but I would like to know a bit more how they vision this partnership practically.
What can ESME gain from it?

In general I am all for it, but would like to have more details.

I also thought their vision was interesting. They were also talking

then we will decide on next steps.

We have been contacted from #ubimic (http://ubimic.org/en/ ) if we

Very interesting, I found this on their vision statement:

# sensors, machines, things and processes sharing data and status messages
# aggregated data from people and things

Seems quite similar to what actions try to accomplish in the context
of different integration scenarios.

I don't know whether there are legal considerations involved (since we
are a Apache project) but I just wanted to get a feeling from the
community if we should pursue this or not.

Legally they don't even need our "permission" to take our code and
build on it, which is the nature of the Apache License.

Seeing that they have goals quite similar to ours, it would surely be
interesting to see what they can offer ESME. Since ESME is not meant
to be used as a central service provider, many scenarios surely
consist of customizing ESME to the needs of the specific organization.
If people want to use ESME, this should be a good thing.
