As just mentioned,

We, the ESS Core Team, plan to release  ESS 16.10  in ca. 10
days, so would be happy if many of you started to "beta test" it.

Some of you use ESS via the MELPA emacs package archive; in that
case you should always get "about the latest" development
version of ESS  (and you are testing continously ;-)

Notably for all other such beta testers, I've just now made
tar/zip balls  available as

  http://stat.ethz.ch/ESS/downloads/ess/ess-16.10-beta.tgz  or  
  http://stat.ethz.ch/ESS/downloads/ess/ess-16.10-beta.zip

Please let us know problem, notably *new* problems should you
see such.
