In emacs 29.4, my ess install completed with several error messages in *Compile-Log*. *Messages* buffer says that install has completed.
[Many Wrote ... and Checking ... messages] Done (Total of 39 files compiled, 14 failed, 3 skipped in 5 directories) Package ‘ess’ installed. Operation [ Install 1 ] finished M-x ess-version returns ess-version: 24.01.1 [elpa: 24.1.1] (loaded from /Users/nareshgurbuxani/.emacs.d/elpa/ess-24.1.1/) While ess is working with R, I would like to take care of error messages. There may be missing features in my installation. Some examples of error messages from *Compile-Log* buffer: ess-test-indentation.el:42:2: Error: Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, etest/etest ess-test-org.el:23:2: Error: Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, ess-test-r-utils Both the above files are available in my installation. .emacs.d/elpa/ess-24.1.1/test/etest/etest.el .emacs.d/elpa/ess-24.1.1/test/ess-test-r-utils.el Is there a better way to install ess?
