That's a weird hack, certaintly, though I'm not sure we want to remove
it. In weird instances, the python path where an exception is called
from can interfere with the ability of the traceback to be caught by name.
If you can give me a specific traceback/error that it's not printing (or
is printing a string for), we can revisit this.
