Remove the 3.0 driver and install version 2.3 and the problem will go away. Although it will not work with multiprocessor computers. Only the 3.0 beta has code to support multiprocessors. The FAQ has info on how to disable the multiprocessor in the startup files. See the WinPcap FAQ.

Hi,

I have installed both WinPcap 3.0 (not the beta
version) and Ethereal 0.9.11 on my laptop but I don't
see anything on the "Interface:" field - nothing on
the drop-down menu also.

I have already read and followed FAQ;

http://www.ethereal.com/faq.html#q5.14

System info for the laptop;

OS:  MS Windows 2000 server (ver. 5.0.2195 Service
     Pack 2 Build 2195)

Network device:  3Com 10/100 Mini PCI Ethernet Adapter

Also, I have administrator privileges to this laptop.

Please let me know a way to solve this problem.

Thanks,

Nalin Silva
