They are convinced it is automake 1.6 that is broken - but I don't remember
why. They do accept 1.6.1 and later though. As the current version is 1.6.3
I just assume there was some bug in the 1.6 release.

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
