That's the way I've seen right-click menus work in Windows applications (well, in Network Monitor, at least), and the way I've seen right-click^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hcontrol-click menus work in Mac OS X applications (well, that's the way it worked when I tried it just now in Mail, at least). I don't know how it works in various UNIX+X applications, but I suspect it works that way there as well.
