Sorry but you drew the wrong conclusions from Guys email. It is a mistake to base protection around certain properties of a switch that can be trivially circumvented. If you need protection/security/privacy you can NOT use this property of a switch to acheive it. The ONLY way to gain it is by using IPSec or similar.
