It depends, but, in this case, the correct procedure is to reply back to the list, so that the issues raised can be discussed. That's almost always the correct procedure - somebody might answer a question, but that doesn't mean they can be, or should be, the "owner" of all the issues brought up by the question, or of any further issues that come up.
