I have been working my final project about WEP and WLANSecurity.
I am using ethereal (the latest version) under Linux and I have been successfully capture packets. I plan to use WEPCrack to try cracking WEP.
I read that if I would use ethereal capture file as a STDIN for the WEPCrack script then I have to patch the libpcap so it can be used for 802.11 monitor mode. Is that true ?? How I know that whether my libpcap is patched or not ?
Then how I should patch the libpcap ?? Do I have to reinstall ethereal ??
