Hello I am new to the list and I am seeking input regarding an event I am encountering using Ethereal 0.10.0, WinPcap 3.0 on a laptop running Windows XP Professional with a Xircom RealPort PC Card 10/100 Ethernet interface. Windows has been updated with the latest security patches.
I used WinDUMP to capture a large amount of LAN packets, which went fine. When opening the large capture file (340,894 packets captured with 0 dropped), Ethereal eventually retrieved the packet information, but I also noticed a DOS window with several warnings similar to the one below: <Ethereal.exe:372>: Gdk-WARNING **: gdkdrawable-win32.c:gdk_win32_draw_rectangle:355: Rectangle failed: Access is denied. I searched the archives looking for guidance and found similar email interchanges describing this event, but no conclusions as to whether this is a bug and more importantly if this is something to be concerned about since it is only a warning and Ethereal does not appear to be effected.
