Hello,

I am using the Etherlab Linux master to connect to discrete IO modules.
I would like to set up some EtherCAT devices (for example the Beckhoff
EL3162, or EL2004) in a switched network using a star topology.

The EtherCAT documentation says it's possible by using EtherCAT frames
wrapped in UDP packets. Presumably the master should then also be
configured to use UDP packets and IP addresses should be set-up.

I don't see examples of this kind in the Etherlab Master source. Is
anybody using this master with a switch to report of it working or
otherwise? Has it been done?

I also noticed that Beckhoff's Bus coupler EK1000 "for operation at the
switch" is able to process EtherCAT UDP, so I might need to use that
instead of the EK1100. The EK1000 has not been released yet, though!

Thanks,

Ronaldo
